Licking Heights Hornets watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 30-4 loss to Wheelersberg Middle School on Saturday. Wheelersberg Middle School scored on a triple by Boggs and a single by Boyes in the first inning.

The Licking Heights Hornets struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Wheelersberg Middle School, giving up 30 runs.

Wheelersberg Middle School got on the board in the first inning. Boggs drove in three when Boggs tripled.

Wheelersberg Middle School scored 16 runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Wheelersberg Middle School was led by Estep, Wright, May, Boyes, Drake, and Greehill, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Wright earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Wheelersberg Middle School. The ace allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two.

Wheelersberg Middle School tallied 24 hits in the game. Boyes, Wright, Carter, Drake, Boggs, Greehill, Wright, and May each managed multiple hits for Wheelersberg Middle School. Boyes led Wheelersberg Middle School with four hits in five at bats.
