Congratulations to the 7th Grade Lady Hornets on a fantastic 31-23 semi-finals win over Heath’s Lady Bulldogs. This game was a battle between two of the top teams in the Licking County League. The Lady Bulldogs came in as the number two seed with a 14-2 record having swept the regular season series between Lady Hornets who were third seed with a 14-3 record. Knowing it was going to be a big challenge to finish with a win, the Lady Hornets jumped out to a 10-2 first quarter lead thanks to their swarming defense that did not allow a first quarter field goal and forced 6 turnovers. They Lady Hornets’ defense received great minutes from Miya Bradley, Natalie Denson, Amya Thompson and Emily McCord holding the Lady Bulldogs post players to 3 points. The offense was led by the trio of Mali Thornton’s 20 points ( series high), Savanna Cronin’s 8 points and a key three pointer by Michaela Dean to start the first quarter run. We look forward to seeing you all at Licking Heights High School on Friday February 8 at 6:00pm to witness history in the making as our Lady Hornets look to bring home the Championship for 7th grade for the first in Hornet history. Congratulations to the 8th Grade Lady Hornets on a hard fought win vs the Lady Blue Aces and punching your ticket to the Licking County League Championship game. Our young ladies HAVE PURPOSE and THE FUTURE IS NOW!! Don’t miss out.
