Alissa West gave London MIddle School 8th grade Raiders fits, as West bagged four hits in Licking Heights Hornets’s 17-5 victory on Wednesday. West doubled in the first, singled in the third, tripled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

Licking Heights Hornets secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by West, Rylee Kennedy, and Savanna Christ, walks by Kyliee Trouten and Madelyn Gates, a triple by West, a groundout by Lily Reich, an error on a ball put in play by Lydia Rauch, and a double by Lily Meidl.

London MIddle School 8th grade Raiders opened up scoring in the first inning when Kayden Warnock singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Licking Heights Hornets took the lead for good with 12 runs in the third inning. In the third West singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Meidl doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Kennedy singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Licking Heights Hornets, Christ singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Trouten drew a walk, scoring one run, Gates drew a walk, scoring one run, Licking Heights Hornets scored on a stolen base during West’s at bat. Then West tripled , driving in two, and Reich grounded out, scoring one run.

Rauch was the winning pitcher for Licking Heights Hornets. The bulldog went three innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking zero. Kaylee Vance threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Emily Shepherd was in the circle for London MIddle School 8th grade Raiders . The righthander lasted five innings, allowing 14 hits and 17 runs while striking out four.

Licking Heights Hornets collected 14 hits. West, Meidl, Christ, Gates, and Trouten all had multiple hits for Licking Heights Hornets. West went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Licking Heights Hornets in hits. Licking Heights Hornets tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Meidl led the way with two.

London MIddle School 8th grade Raiders totaled eight hits in the game. Danica Jordan, Lilly Gravley, and Gwyn Wieber each managed multiple hits for London MIddle School 8th grade Raiders .
